Use a couple ounces of Callisto and sleep easier. If I remember right it makes the corn brittle so watch out for windy days and quit using it long before 8" corn A standard 3-Way runs 1.5oz/M, whereas the ester based 2,4-D is less than 1.0oz/M. That only amounts to about a 2 to 4 an acre difference in material cost. Most of our fields where we have resistance problems were sprayed preplant, so I could go without the 2,4-d if crop response/injury is likely at this stage. Especially as cold as it is this spring the round up works slow. I could just use a higher rate of PowerMAX, but I like the quick knockdown of the 2,4-d. Label states that is acceptable up to 8" corn. I know its labeled for post emerge use, but will I see any crop injury? I'd like to use 8 oz/ac.
